A Brief History
As a marketing and events company, we at Chocolate Shoebox had always dreamed of owning our own function venue, and for a long time it remained just that – a dream. But dreams do come true and 2008 saw the newly refurbished Campbell House boutique conference venue opening its doors.
Built in 1916 and designed by renowned architect Harold Nixon Porter, the building has a rich and elegant past. Converting one of Johannesburg’s heritage homes into a fitting venue was no easy task. However after careful planning, this family-owned boutique conference centre has been beautifully restored to reflect the tranquillity, charm and gracious style of a by-gone era whilst providing every convenience of a modern day conference facility.
